Welcome to the Vego Garden School Garden Program! We are dedicated to supporting schools in creating vibrant, sustainable gardens that serve as outdoor classrooms and community hubs. Our mission is to empower students and educators by providing the tools and resources needed to cultivate a love for nature, sustainability, and healthy living.

Educational Enhancement

Experiential Learning & Critical Thinking: Gardens offer a hands-on learning experience, enhancing lessons in science, math, and environmental studies. Students engage in problem-solving and critical thinking as they plan, plant, and maintain their gardens.

Collaboration: Gardens bring together students, teachers, parents, and community members, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

Environmental Awareness

Sustainability Education & Connection to Nature: Gardens teach students about sustainable practices, composting, and the importance of biodiversity.

Since the inception of our School Garden Program, we have proudly sponsored over 100 schools across the country. These gardens have become integral parts of their communities, fostering learning and growth in countless ways.

Photo Use Agreement
Myself (and my organization if applicable) have requested to participate in and use the Vego Garden Giving Back Program (“Program”) provided by Vego Garden, Inc. (“Vego Garden''). As a part of the Program, I have agreed to submit to Vego Garden images and/or videos relating to the Program as well as the name and logo of the organization if applicable (collectively, the “Materials.”)

For good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which I hereby acknowledge, I, the undersigned, do hereby give Vego Garden (and its assigns, licensees, and designees), the irrevocable right to use my submitted photographs or images, including without limitation videotaped images provided as part of the Program, in all forms and media and in all manners for any purpose in connection with the Program (including: display, exhibition, press, news, marketing or editorial use). I hereby waive any right to inspect or approve any uses of the Materials that may be created in connection with the Program.

I hereby completely release, discharge, and agree to hold harmless Vego Garden, its officers, directors, employees, assigns, licensees, designees, and all persons acting under its permission or authority, from any and all claims I may have relating to my participation in the Program, Vego Garden’s collection of or the use of the Materials in accordance with the Program and my consent, including without limitation: defamation, right of publicity and invasion of privacy. I have read this release and am fully familiar with its contents.

Once signed by me, this consent and release will constitute consent for use of the Materials to Vego Garden and release by me of the Materials as contemplated herein. Vego Garden’s contact information is provided below. I may access Vego Garden’s Privacy Policy at https://vegogarden.com/policies/privacy-policy.
* Please be advised that without receipt of this signed consent and release, I will not be able to access and/or participate in the Program.
I waive any and all claims to additional compensation by Vego Garden.

School Highlights

The Brick Farmhouse School

Based in Shipman, the Brick Farmhouse School is a private pre-kindergarten and elementary school with a flexible and comprehensive curriculum in a diverse range of subjects. They encourage students to work in gardens and to learn about growing a wide variety of plants: from native plants, to culinary herbs and vegetables. They will use our garden beds to promote a sense of community for their students, offering produce from their school garden to to all community members.

Nature Club at Avalon Elementary

Avalon Elementary Orlando, Florida is rich in tradition, and encourage students to exlore nature via their Nature Club. They leverage their vegetable gardens to teach students about what grows seasonally, with a cooking curriculum as part of the club. They will replace their old wooden beds with our new garden beds as an improvement to their garden. They also participate in monthly activities in the garden like storytime and scavenger hunts as well.

Excel Academy

Georgia-based Excel Academy is a non-traditional school offering a variety of special education/504, MTSS, gifted and AP services for qualifying students. They have created a food pantry called Excel Eats, with the goal of increasing food security among students and the wider community. Vego Garden's raised beds will help improve their production, contributing to the food pantry, while teaching students the neccessary skills to grow their own yards.

St. Clare Catholic School

Located in O'Fallon, Illinois, the St. Clare Catholic School is creating an educational school garden with our garden beds, where students will learn to grow fruits and vegetables. The produce will be donated to their local food pantry.

Brooker Community School

The Brooker Community School reopened in 2023 as a K-5 charter school.The focus of this rural school is agriculture. Vego Garden beds will be used for students to grow and harvest vegetables, and to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

McDonald Middle School - MMS Grows

Part of Mesquite ISD,Texas-based McDonald Middle School will use our garden beds to add more space for students to be actively involved in various gardening and outdoor activities. They plan to pack out these garden beds with various seasonal veggies, and pollinator friendly flowers for all to enjoy.

Dwight D Eisenhower Elementary

Eisenhower Elementary opened its doors in 1971. Based in Crown Point, Indiana, Eisenhower Elementary is a National Blue Ribbon School with an "A" rating from the Indiana Dept. of Education, serving over 600 students in grades K-5. Vego Garden is lending support to the school's vegetable garden for students with our garden bed donations.

Good Shepherd Lutheran School

The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and School is one of over 1,200 churches that are part of the church body known as the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the school serves students from kindergarten to 8th grade. It has a gardening program for students as a way to give back to the community. Students will start their plants from seed, so they can see the science behind the garden. We are glad to support their gardening efforts with Vego's garden beds - for students to see the importance of gardens and how they can provide for others.

Sanderling Waldorf School

Founded in Germany in the early 20th century, Waldorf education is an independent and inclusive pedagogy based on the insights and teachings of Rudolf Steiner. As the only Wardolf accredited school in North County San Diego, the Sanderling Wardolf School serves children from 16 months to 8th grade. With our garden beds, we are support the school's gardening program for grades 3-8 that's worked into their weekly curriculum. Students will see plants' growth cycles, while enjoying a learning environment in the outdoors to get their hands dirty.

Based in Elk Grive, California, the Toby Johnson Middle School offers enhanced learning opportunities through a seamless grade 7-12 curriculum for active learners. Vego Garden will support the middle school's herb garden and plant science classes with our garden bed donations, so teachers and students can grow herbs year round.

Helen Tyson Middle School

Helen Tyson Middle School opened in 1995. It was named after Helen Knoll Tyson, wife of John Tyson, the founder of Tyson Foods, Inc. HTMS is built on the site of one of the family first chicken farms. The school's garden connects students to nature, and the food produced is used to feed the school community. Our garden beds will be used to replace with older ones in the garden, and to optimize the space so the school can get more students to use the garden.

The East End Intermediate School is a public school located in Little Rock, Arkansas, in a fringe rural setting. The school serves 396 students between grades 3-5. More than 40% of the school's students are on a free and reduced lunch program. With our garden beds, Vego Garden will support the school's garden club, which will teach students the value in growing their own food, and bring awareness to food insecurities in the community.

Proctor Terrace Elementary School

Founded in 1949, Santa Rosa-based Proctor Terrace Elementary is located in the McDonald Historic District, exuding the charm of 1950's era California.The school provides a rigorous academic program from kindergarten to sixth grade, combined with integrated social-emotional learning support. It has two garden spaces maintained solely by volunteers, as outdoor teaching spaces offering gardening classes for students.The gardens have been revamped recently with donated Vego Garden beds, in place of old garden beds in disrepair.

Established in 1994, the Keystone Montessori School aims to provide an authentic Montessori education for children ages four months to adolescence. Based in River Forest, Illinois, the school serves children of varied social, racial, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Vego Garden is supporting the school's gardening classes with our garden bed donations, so students can grow and harvest herbs and veggies - and enjoy the fruits of their labor in the process.

Located in Livingston, Louisiana, the Doyle Elementary School is a public school with 628 pre-kindergarten students.The school is building a garden to grow different crops from seed with Vego garden beds, offering students the opportunity to care for the plants and tend to the garden.
