Houston, TX, February 13th, 2025  – As the leader of innovation in the gardening industry, Vego Garden remains committed to empowering local communities and underprivileged individuals via its Giving Back Program. The program has continued to gain momentum throughout 2024, offering support to key community organizations with new partnerships formed. We stand proud of these continued efforts that have contributed to social change, as we continue our quest to give back in 2025.

With corporate social responsibility at the core, Vego Garden lends support to non-profit, social, charitable, and educational projects in the local communities where we operate. Last year, the Giving Back Program provided garden bed donations to a total of 208 organizations. In January 2025, we were pleased to receive project update photos from several donation organizations. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely share some of the impactful and meaningful highlights from these projects.

New Alliances Forged

One of the latest community organizations we joined hands with is the Texas New Community Alliance dba New Danville, a non-profit organization that helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live enriched and purposeful lives. They also offer programs that empower personal independence, with learning opportunities to reinforce personal growth and freedom of choice.

We donated our 32" Extra Tall 10 in 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kit to the Texas-based non-profit group. The new garden beds replaced the old, worn concrete block pots that were installed by volunteers 15 years ago, and gave members opportunities to grow plants and learn how to care for flowers and vegetables.

We also lent support to the work of Meiners Oaks Community Garden, a 7,500-square-foot property located in the center of bustling Meiners Oaks. Community gardens such as this one provide a range of benefits extending beyond just growing food, such as improving neighborhoods by promoting physical activity, reducing stress, and increasing social connections among neighbors. They also help beautify urban spaces and promote sustainable practices.

Vego Garden donated two 32" Extra Tall 6 in 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits and two 17" Tall 6 in 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to the garden. The beds are rented out to the community every two years at affordable prices, making the garden accessible to everyone. The beds are also used as demonstrations, and at the back of the garden, there is space for people to gather and hold gardening workshops.

Supporting the Foundations of Learning

As in the past year, we have lent staunch support to schools and academic organizations. One of the latest schools we supported is Florence Campbell Elementary, part of the 2017 Bond Program to address overcrowding in the western League City area. It is the district's 27th elementary campus.

We donated a 17" Tall L-Shaped Raised Garden Bed Kit and a 17" Tall 10 in 1 Jumbo Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kit to the school. They used our garden beds to help students learn how to grow food and the importance of supporting pollinators for vegetable pollination. Students planted vegetable and pollinator plants at school and took the seedlings home to start their own gardens.

We also collaborated with the Cannon Beach Academy, a tuition-free public charter school serving grades K to five. The academy’s mission is to provide high-quality educational choices within the public school system. Equal emphasis is placed on a solid academic foundation, artistic expression, attention to the emotional life of students, social responsibility, cultural diversity, a healthy lifestyle, and appreciation of the environment and the arts.

They benefited from donations of 10 wicking cells units installed at the base of raised beds, creating a barrier between the deck and dirt that allows them to fully utilize the beds. Indeed, students and teachers alike are all excited about the new school garden!
