Houston, TX, October 9th, 2024  – As the gardening industry’s innovation leader and pioneer, Vego Garden is dedicated to empowering local communities and underprivileged individuals via its Giving Back Program. Since the beginning of the year, the program has gained much progress, as we continue to form new partnerships with key community groups, institutions, and non-profit organizations. These alliances and efforts have contributed to further social change in various communities.

With corporate social responsibility at the core of our business, Vego Garden continues to support various social, not-profit, charitable, and educational projects in the communities in which we operate. As we enter September, the Giving Back Program continues to achieve solid results, with garden bed donations made to 15  new organizations. These include donations to 7 schools, 3 non-profit organizations, 2 school clubs, 2 community gardens, and 1 country office of education. Since the start of the year, we have made a total of 124 donations to various organizations to drive social change.

New Partnerships

We joined hands with Backyard Growers Inc., an NGO based in Gloucester that was founded during the 2008 recession, in response to a community need for increased food access. They run six community gardens, hundreds of residential gardens, a school garden at every Gloucester public school, as well as numerous gardens at community organizations.

With the aim of exposing every child in their city's schools to the benefits of growing their own food, they also used three of our 17" Tall 9 In 1 Large Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to further this aim, allowing the children to see how seeds grow into food.

We lent support to La Primaria Garden Club at La Primaria elementary. The school is committed to high intellectual, social and personal expectations, and high standards of performance for all students in a caring and safe environment.

They will use our 11" Tall 4 In 1 Small Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kit, and 11" Tall 10 In 1 Jumbo Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kit to plant herbs, onions, and perennials to dress up an area of the school. They also plan on creating a patio as a peaceful spot for teachers, students, and parents to visit the garden or take time to unwind.

Geneva Heights Elementary is one of the latest schools to benefit from our donations. Built in 1931 and nestled in a diverse neighborhood in East Dallas, they firmly believe that gardening will help to grow healthy kids and communities.

Two 17” 10 in 1 Modular Raised Garden Beds will be used to offer more opportunities for students to get their hands dirty, with exposure to nature and the ways it impacts our lives.

The Shenandoah Middle School possesses great history and traditions. The school first opened its doors in 1926, and remains dedicated to preparing children as productive and effective members of society.

They will use two of our 17" Tall 9 In 1 Large Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits, and an Arched Trellis System to improve the school environment, with a positive impact on the school community. Students will gain a strong sense of ownership and pride, leading to increased productivity and happiness.

Supporting Meaningful Endeavors

The mission of the Grow North Texas - Owenwood Farm Community Garden is to connect North Texans to food, farms, and communities, creating a sustainable, secure regional food system that encourages economic opportunity, providing access to nutritious food for all residents.

Vego Garden donated three 32" Extra Tall 10 In 1 Jumbo Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to the community garden. The beds will be used to produce organic, local produce for the community. They will also provide free gardening classes, an accessible place to grow, and open spaces for those who aren't able to afford beds.

The Rabun Gap Nacoochee School was founded as a farm school. Its garden is a connection to the past and a pilot for the future of sustainable agriculture. They started a school garden in the hopes of running farming classes in the future.

To support these efforts, we donated two 17" Tall 10 In 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to help expand their garden, so they can grow more and experiment with new plants - allowing their students to see the benefits of growing their own food.

The idea of Friends of Westchase was born from Grace Presbyterian Church's vision to come alongside nearby residents, businesses and churches to listen to the needs of the community, and work together to support under-resourced populations in the neighborhood.

We donated three 17" Tall 10 In 1 Jumbo Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits in support of this cause. They used the garden beds to expand their garden, and to feed more students and their families. The garden also supplements food for some of the teachers at the school.

Our Promise to Give Back
