Houston, TX, September 2nd, 2024  – As the leader of innovation in the gardening industry, Vego Garden remains committed to empowering local communities and underprivileged individuals via its Giving Back Program. Since the beginning of the year, the program has gained considerable momentum, as we forged new alliances and partnerships with key community groups and organizations. As we continue our quest to give back with our donations, our efforts have contributed to further social change.

With corporate social responsibility at the core of our business, Vego Garden continues to support various social, not-profit, charitable, and educational projects in communities in which we operate. As we enter the month of August, the Giving Back Program has stayed on track with solid results, with garden bed donations to 21 new organizations. These include donations made to 8 non-profit organizations, and 1 church. Since the start of 2024, we have made a total of 109 donations to various organizations to further social change.

New Partnerships Forged

Chicago-based Friends of Suder, a parent-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is one of our latest partners. They offer support to the students, faculty, and community of Suder Montessori Magnet School through fundraising, advocacy, and educational enrichment.

We donated two Self-Watering Garden Beds to help them increase the variety and volume of their harvest. The harvested crops are used in the classroom, while extras are given to members of the community. Our beds will also improve organization of their garden, allowing all the classrooms to have their own space.

The idea for Friends of Westchase was born from Grace Presbyterian Church's vision - to listen to the needs of the community, and work towards strengthening under-resourced populations in the surrounding neighborhoods of Westchase in Houston, Texas.

We lent support to the NGO with donations of three 17" Tall 10 In 1 Jumbo Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits, which will help expand their garden to feed more students and their families. It will also supplement food sources for teachers at the school.

We also joined hands with McNair Elementary, the first school built in what is now considered South Denton in Texas, long considered a learning hub for children in the surrounding neighborhoods through creative learning activities, programs and awards.

Two of our 32" Extra Tall 9 In 1 Medium Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits will be used in a dedicated area at the school for edible plants. Students will be involved with planting themselves, with guidance from teachers and mentors. Each grade level will have access to their own space in the garden to participate in grade-appropriate science, art, and nature projects.

Finally, we also supported the work of the Little Tree Community, a non-profit organization and school that serves students of all races, color, national and ethnic origins, with various programs and activities made available to students at the school.

They will use two 17" Tall 9 in 1 Large Modular Metal Raised Garden Beds to help students grow different vegetables that they can bring home. They will also invite community members in surrounding areas to enjoy the produce, as well as to share information on gardening.

Dedicated to Fostering Change

As with previous months, we continued to contribute to a variety of projects in local communities, aiming to help foster changes that are truly meaningful.

Chartered by the Trinity Lutheran Church, the BSA Troop 618G is an active and fast growing scout troop based in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Members actively participate in many scouting activities, which helps them learn how to make good decisions and responsibility.

Vego Garden donated four 17" Tall 6 In 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to the group,  which will be used in a community garden for their church, as well as for senior residents and the community to enjoy accessible and healthy produce.

The Good Shepherd Farm Education and Outreach is committed to promoting sustainable agriculture practices, protecting the environment, and improving food security. They donate fresh, sustainably grown produce to local food banks via the Farm to Food Bank program.

We donated four 17" Tall 9 In 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to help support pollinator and vegetable gardens at local K12 schools in the Compost for K12 program.

Kansas-based Goddard Lions Club has a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, the youth community service organization is known for fighting blindness, while they also volunteer for many different kinds of community projects - including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled.

They received six 17" Tall 9 In 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits from us to create a new community garden, and to help members of the community connect with nature to find the value of life.

Our Pledge to Give Back

With unwavering dedication to serve and empower local communities, the Giving Back Program continues to drive change and encourage both personal and communal growth. This encouraging progress is a testament to our commitment to give back - as a company focused on gardening for the common good.

As we enter the second half of 2024, we look forward to partnering with more influential organizations, and to offer support to more meaningful community initiatives. In the remainder of 2024, we will strive to elevate our work with key community partners through the program, and strengthen our commitment to corporate social responsibility.
