Houston, TX, August 4 th, 2024  – As the innovation leader of the gardening industry, Vego Garden is continuing its quest to empower local communities and individuals in need via its Giving Back Program. Since the start of the year, our program has achieved notable momentum, forming new alliances and key partnerships with influential organizations. With a focus on giving back and helping those in need, our donations are contributing to more initiatives to further social change.

With corporate social responsibility as its core focus, Vego Garden continues to offer support to various charitable, social, not-profit, educational and government projects in communities in which we operate. After a strong start in the first half of the year, the Giving Back Program has stayed on track with more encouraging results in July, donating our garden beds to 10 new organizations. These include donations made to 3 non-profit organizations, 5 schools, 1 association and 1 community group. Since the beginning of 2024, we have made a total of 88 donations to various organizations in support of social empowerment.

More New Alliances Formed

Following our encouraging progress in the first half of the year, the Giving Back Program continues to grow in magnitude with more new alliances formed, as a testament to our dedication to bring about change through the power of gardening.

One of our newest partners is Homesteads for Hope based in Rochester, New York. The community farm promotes independence via skills training, socialization, career guidance and exploration. The farm offers a community where individuals with and without disabilities can thrive, and find purpose through the transformative power of agriculture. Through their community farm, they help empower individuals with disabilities by providing them with opportunities for skill development, social engagement, and personal growth.

We donated our 130 feet Vego Retractable Hose Reel Set to the farm, which will replace heavy hoses that were difficult for members to use on a daily basis. It will also make the area more user-friendly and less of a fall risk for its members and the greater public.

Gilbert, Arizona-based Lauren's Institute for Education is one of the latest schools that benefited from our donations. As a special-needs institution serving individuals with developmental disabilities, it promotes acceptance, equity, and inclusion. The school strives to create an environment where everyone believes they have equal value, regardless of gender, sex, religion, age, or orientation.

To support their efforts, we donated two 17" Tall 10 In 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to help facilitate their hot lunch program, and for students with disabilities.

Dallas, Texas-based Wallace Elementary is another academic institution we recently joined hands with. Offering a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students, the school aims to educate comprehensively, and empower students to problem solve, dream, as well as to value collaboration and diversity.

Vego Garden donated two 17" Tall 10 In 1 Jumbo Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to the school, which will be used to facilitate interesting gardening activities on campus. Students will be involved in planting seeds, watering, weeding, and general garden upkeep - thereby gaining hands-on experience with gardening techniques.

We also lent support to Nurtury Preschool, a Christian, state-licensed preschool located on the campus of Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church in California. The school offers a developmentally appropriate preschool program for children aged 2 years up to kindergarten.

With the help of Vego’s garden beds, they now have classes with gardening activities that include growing vegetables and flowers. In addition, they will establish a curriculum around seeds, plants, pollinators like bees and butterflies, as well as gardening-related topics.

Joining Hands for Social Change

Established in 1994, River Forest, Illinois-based Keystone Montessori School was first incorporated as a non-profit parent-teacher initiative. The primary school serves children of varied social, racial, and religious backgrounds, and aims to nurture and develop the unique capabilities of all its students.

Vego Garden donated a 17" 6 In 1 Raised Garden Bed and a 17" Tall L-Shaped Raised Garden Bed to the school, which will help students grow and harvest herbs and veggies, so they can experience gardening and enjoy the fruits of their labor in the process.

We also partnered with the Northern Region Educational Services Commission located in Wayne, New Jersey, which aspires to be the leader in providing quality staffing in the education, business services, technology, and transportation sectors.

We donated 3 32" Extra Tall 6 In 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to the commission. Gardening is one of the most preferred activities of their participants, and Vego’s garden beds will be used to grow seasonal vegetables for cooking, planting, as well as nature-based activities.

Finally, we made donations to the historic First Presbyterian Church of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Washington - part of the larger Presbyterian Church USA denomination.  Originally from Scotland, the first Presbyterians church goers can be traced back to Aberdeen since 1888.

Vego Garden donated two 32" Extra Tall 10 In 1 Modular Metal Raised Garden Bed Kits to the church. The garden beds will be used to grow flowers and vegetables - to be shared with their community and local families that are in need of food. Gardening is encouraged in the church community as it helps keep the elderly congregation members active and healthy.

Our Pledge to Give Back

Through our unwavering dedication to serve and empower local communities, the Giving Back Program has stayed on course to drive real change and encourage both personal and communal growth. This notable progress also represents our pledge to give back - as a company focused on gardening for the common good.

With the summer season in full bloom, we look forward to supporting more meaningful social and charitable community initiatives this year. In the second half of 2024, we will strive to elevate our work with more influential community partners through the program, and strengthen our commitment to corporate social responsibility.
